Info about song
"Moscas En La Casa" (English: Flies In The House) is a Latin pop ballad written and performed by Colombian singer Shakira, released as the fifth single from her 1998 multi-platinum album ¿Dónde Están los Ladrones?. In the song, Shakira explains the sadness that she feels after a broken relationship and how she has let herself go, while she continues to wait for him to come back. It was a single only for radio, because no video was shot for this song. Another reading of the lyrics would suggest that this is not about a broken relationship but about the loss of a child who has disappeared without explanation - perhaps kidnapped: aun sigo buscando en las caras de ancianos pedazos de niño - "searching in older faces for the pieces of a child" - like a parent whose child simply disappeared one day will forever look at children of the age that the lost child would now be, hoping to see their own child's features now grown up. (Ian McEwan's novel The Child in Time tackles this topic very powerfully.) Read more on Last.fm.
