Info about song

"Bark at the Moon" is a metal song by Ozzy Osbourne. It is the first track on his 1983 album Bark at the Moon. The song was composed by Jake E. Lee and Bob Daisley with minor contributions from Osbourne and is four minutes and 14 seconds long. The song itself is about a mythical beast that once terrorized a town, was killed and then resurrected itself to once more wreak havoc. The music video, however, is about a scientist (played by Osbourne) who accidentally turns himself into a beast, is killed, and resurrected as a free human again. This song marked the first recording after the death of Ozzy's original guitarist Randy Rhoads, with replacement Jake E. Lee. The song was covered by the punk rock band Strung Out for the compilation Punk Goes Metal. Another cover was made by industrial metal band Violent Work Of Art in 1998 for the compilation Ozzified. A cover of the song is a playable track in the PlayStation 2 game Guitar Hero, where it, along with Cowboys from Hell by Pantera, is considered by many to be the game's most difficult song, it being the last song in the game's main list. It was also re-released as downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero II. A video of the song from the original Guitar Hero game can be seen here. The song is also featured in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on the radio station V-Rock This is the opening theme for the QMJHL team the Moncton Wildcats. The popular Canadian teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation, which is known for naming each episode after an 80s hit song, named an episode after this song. The music video for Bark at the Moon was partially filmed at the Holloway Sanitorium oustide of London, England. Read more on Last.fm.
