Info about song
Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever), often referred to as Neutron Star Collision, is a 2010 single by the English rock band, Muse. It was released on May 17, 2010 19:30 GMT on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 program and began selling on Muse's website imediately after shortly followed by Amazon and iTunes, however on the two weeks running up to the release date fans could pre-order a CD copy from muse.mu. Bellamy joined Zane for an interview following the first play where he described the background to the single and how it was written about the break-up of him and his girlfriend but whilst looking back on when they were deeply in love. This can be heard directly from the lyrics. The song was written by principal songwriter, Matthew Bellamy (lead guitar, vocals & piano). The song was never originally intended to feature on the soundtrack, however after matt wrote it he was doubtful that it would be relevent when the next album comes to light and so the song had no place at that time. But the author of The Twilight Saga, Stephenie Meyer (a big Muse fan), had originaly asked Muse to do a remake of "I Belong to You" (track 7 fro m the resistance album) especially for the soundtrack, Muse were happy to do so as it meant the song would have a use as it would hardly ever get played live. But with Neutron Star Collision being available at the time, Muse submitted it to Meyer instead and it was accepted, whether or not "i belong to you" ever features on the soundtrack is unknown at this time. Because of the association of this song and Twilight, a rumour based on an assumption from muse listeners says that the song was written for twilight. This is not true as stated above. Many fans choose to dislike the song purely because of this rumour The song also features Rachmaninoff's "Adagio sostenuto" which serves as the outro to the song. Read more on Last.fm.
