Jonas Brothers covered "Year 3000" in 2006. To make their version more commercial and radio-friendly for their target young audience, some of the original lyrics were altered. Their version says that the Jonas Brothers' "7th album ... outsold Kelly Clarkson" instead of Michael Jackson and "Girls there with round hair like Star Wars float above the floor" instead of "triple-breasted women swim around town totally naked." Although the Jonas Brothers version was released in 2006, the song did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100 until early 2007 when the song debuted at #40. "Year 3000" was the group's first single to chart and their first Top 40 hit. The song eventually peaked at #31 on the Billboard Hot 100.
