Info about song
Interpretation "Spinning the Wheel" is sung as if to admonish a lover who is out seeking casual encounters with strangers. The singer begins by questioning why it is morning and yet their lover has not returned home. The singer asserts they would rather end the relationship than accept constantly fearing the lover returning with a transmissible infection. The singer equates the behaviour to gambling; one popular form Roulette involves "Spinning the Wheel". The singer then wonders if the lover is pursuing the encounters because of the thrill of danger and the unknown. The singer goes on to question their lover's professed love, if the lover is risking transmission of a fatal infection; most likely a reference to the human Immunodeficiency virus. This verse makes 'Russian Roulette" a more directly comparable gamble. Finally the singer dismisses the lover's promises of attempts at greater fidelity as empty promises. Read more on Last.fm.
