It was also planned to be the first single from "The Rising Tied" but this changed just before the album came onto the shelves, and Fort Minor released "Petrified" and "Believe Me" instead, reserving "Remember the Name" for later. The National Basketball Association used "Remember the Name" as the theme song for the 2006 and 2007 NBA Playoffs as well as the 2008 NBA Draft. During the 2006 season it was played as part of the introductory video before Arizona Diamondbacks baseball games. The song is also used during the Cleveland Indians' introductory video in 2007. The song was also the theme at the University of Memphis basketball games during the 2006-2007 college basketball season. Television broadcasts of the Major League Gaming championships in the United States in 2007 often played this song during intermissions preceding Grand Finals. It is also featured in promotional TV trailers for the 2006 movie, Gridiron Gang, NBC's 2006 series, Friday Night Lights, and Pride, directed by Sunu Gonera. Also the trailer for Fighting (film).
