Baby let's Play House chords by Elvis Presley

Arthur Gunter wrote and recorded the song, but Elvis's version might just be the most influential tune in rock history. For one thing, Jimmy Page names "Baby Let's Play House" by Elvis as the song that inspired him to play guitar Elvis recorded "Baby Let's Play House" at Sun Records, and by 1955, the tune placed fifth on the country charts. Elvis changed the words from "You may get religion" to "You may drive a pink Cadillac." Elvis played it at Overton Park and on the road for two years before his famous live performance on the Dorsey show in February of 1956, which is the first time most of America heard it. The dicey line goes, "I'd rather see you dead, little girl, than to be with another man." On live television, Elvis changed the lyric to ". . . than to wed another man." When Lennon grabbed the original lyric (which Elvis recorded) for his song "Run for Your Life," both songs wound up banned by UK radio. Ironically, Elvis's mother named this song as her personal favorite, and his performance on the Dorsey show rated as among his most electric.
