Album 激しさと、この胸の中で絡み付いた灼熱の闇
Info about song
"激しさと、この胸の中で絡み付いた灼熱の闇" ("The scorching darkness that is violently wrapped around my heart") is Dir en grey's 25th single, released December2nd, 2009. The single was released as a regular and limited edition release. It is also the 12th remastered track on the DUM SPIRO SPERO album. The track was also in the 2nd spot on the Oricon Weekly and Daily Singles Charts; one of the band's most popular and recent singles to date. CD Track Listing: 激しさと、この胸の中で絡み付いた灼熱の闇 Zan (re-recording) Shokubeni (Shot in One Take) DVD: Shokubeni (Shot in One Take) 激しさと、この胸の中で絡み付いた灼熱の闇 (Scenes from Recording) 激しさと、この胸の中で絡み付いた灼熱の闇 (In-Studio Footage) The single of the track is a different mix from that included on the album Dum spiro spero; the instrumentation on both versions is largely the same, but the balance and tone of the instruments is different on the album version. The title "激しさと、この胸の中で絡み付いた灼熱の闇" ("Hageshisa to, kono mune no naka de karamitsuita shakunetsu no yami") can be translated several different ways. The band's official translation is "The Violence and the Darkness of the Burning Heat Entwines in My Heart", which is largely accurate, but grammatically incorrect due to subject-verb agreement issues (the subjects of the sentence are "violence" and "darkness", as "heat" is part of a modifying dependent clause; thus the subject of the sentence should be treated as plural. As Japanese does not even differentiate between plural and singular nouns, this is a common problem when translating Japanese to English). A correct version would be "The Violence and the Darkness of the Burning Heat Entwine in My Heart". "The Scorching Darkness That Is Violently Wrapped Around My Heart", also listed above, is another possible translation. The title of the song has the distinction of being Dir en grey's longest single title to date, though "「欲巣にDREAMBOX」あるいは成熟の理念と冷たい雨" could be considered a longer song title by some measures.
