Info about song
Snake Eater is the opening theme to the 2004 video game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The music and lyrics were written by Konami mainstay Norihiko Hibino and the vocals were provided by Cynthia Harrell. The style of the song is distinctly similar to that of an opening song found in a vast number of James Bond films, featuring extensive use of horns in the full mix. Within the game, variations of the song can be heard at various points. These include merely the vocal track sans the backing music as the game's protagonist, Naked Snake, ascends a ladder and another during a fight with one of the game's antagonists (The Boss) which is played up to the chorus and then goes on to repeat the opening verse before playing through to the song's conclusion. The song has also been used in other games of the Metal Gear series, including the fourth installment (the song itself even being an unlockable within that game) and Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker where it can be heard as a piano arrangement during a flashback sequence.
