Zoufris Maracas is a French music group, formed by two childhood friends from Sète, Vincent Sanchez, known as Vin's, and Vincent Allard, known as Micho.
The name of the group Zoufris is a reference to the Algerian workers who came to work in France in the 1950s. It was in 2007 while playing in the Paris metro as a duo that they were noticed by Julio Rodriguez, independent producer, who introduced them to François Causse, who joined as a drummer. In addition to François Causse on drums, the group expanded with the arrival of Brice Moscardini on trumpet and Michael Demeyere on gipsy guitar. In 2010, La Rue Kétanou invited them to go on stage for the first time. Their first single Et ta mère was released in 2011, followed by a six-track EP, and then their first album Prison dorée in 2012.
During 2012, they give around 10 concerts per month on average. They are programmed at the Festival en Othe 2012 and the single Et ta mère is played on Radio Nova, Le Mouv 'and France Inter which allows them to find a large audience following them on a tour of more than 120 dates in two years with many festivals like Solidays, Le Paléo in Switzerland, Fernande in Sète or the Festival international de la chanson de Granby in Quebec.
Their 2nd album Chienne de vie was released in 2015 on their Label Chapter Two / Wagram. They started writing this album in Mexico, and distil their multiple influences there, notably African, Latin and Gypsy. They collaborated on this album with Winston Mc Anuff on the song Nanotechnologie and the Reunionese Lindigo for the song Pacifique.
A third album, Le live de la jungle was released in 2016. It includes nine live tracks and five acoustic versions. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
