It’s a rare artist whose music appeals to both discerning roots music fans and mainstream country lovers. Kerrville New Folk finalist Zane Williams is making a name for himself as one of these special singer-songwriters by receiving recognition at the Kerrville, Telluride, and Merlefest festivals as well as making fans among today’s top Nashville A&R executives.
The Abilene, TX native honed his songwriting and performing skills on the road by playing as a coffeehouse artist at over 500 colleges and universities nationwide. His indie release Hurry Home in 2006 resulted in a John Lennon “Song of the Year” award, a publishing deal with americana powerhouse Big Yellow Dog Music, and a soon-to-be-released single on Sony/BMG artist Jason Michael Carroll’s newest album.
Back in Texas after nine years in Nashville, Zane continues to make great music---on his own terms---that will delight roots music and mainstream country fans alike.
