' London Underground ' kicks off with the blistering 'The Truth Hurts' , a bile-spitting tirade against class division and unearned privilege, with crunching guitar riffs and big, thug - like backing vocals.
'Ordinary Girl' is a tongue-in-cheek ditty about what life would be like as a city financier, bursting with guitar and vocal hook lines, this in an extremely catchy song.

'Ordinary Girl' is a tongue-in-cheek ditty about what life would be like as a city financier, bursting with guitar and vocal hook lines, this in an extremely catchy song.
'Punx United' is a melodic, cheerful stomper with a shout-along chorus for all the other freaks/outcasts/interesting people to join in with.
'Sniffing Glue' is a memoir to Beki growing up in Bristol as a junior Punk Rocker, a tale of adolescent angst and drug experimentation set to another memorable Rooney guitar riff which leads into a perversely melodic chorus.
Next up is' Old Skool ' a hymn to the real blue blood of the country, i.e Punk Rockers, with another big, catchy chorus.
'On Your Own' is a nice jerky little ditty about how when the chips are down all your
' friends' suddenly disappear and you're left to face things on your own. It boasts probably the first Theramin solo to ever appear on a Punk track.
' Starvation Box ' is about things getting so bad that you to sell your guitar down Denmark Street for a pittance. The original blues players used to refer to the guitar as the Starvation Box.
'Identity Crisis' schitzophrenic and frantic with a thrash skiffle flavour.
'Dear Joe'. All about the Late Great Joe Strummer and his many immitators.
' Basement Life', for those at the bottom of the heap, living 'hand to mouth and hand me down', gloriously tuneful and poignant.
'Stab in the dark' the words are a tantrum of impatience and reflect on being constantly thwarted by trivia, the tune is fast and bouncy.
'Water'. This has an almost South American feel and describes how life makes you unclean and how we all need a damn good wash. Actually it's quite serious and has baptism and black dogs in it.
'Goodnight England' is the final track and Beki darkly bemoans the state of the country over bleak guitars. Lines such as ' Form fillers in funeral suits watch clocks and grind down the new recruits' brilliantly evoke England in decline. The song gradually builds to a climax of orchestration and vocal harmony and stands in complete contrast to the other tracks. Read more on Last.fm.
