No Line on the Horizon is the twelfth studio album by Irish rock band U2, released on 27 February 2009 in Ireland, 2 March in the rest of Europe, and a day later in North America. The album is U2's first since 2004's How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, the longest gap between studio albums in the band's career. It was accidentally leaked onto the internet before release. On the first day of the official release it reached platinum status.
The unreleased album found its way onto BitTorrent and was downloaded hundreds of thousands of times. As a result, it was rumored that the RIAA asked social music service Last.fm for data about its users' listening habits to find people with unreleased tracks on their computers. Last.fm denied such situation occurred. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
