Turboweekend formed in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2006, by childhood friends Silas Bjerregaard (Lead Vocals), Morten Køie (Bass), and Martin Petersen (Drums). Anders Møller (Keys and backing vocals) joined the band in 2009.
Their 3rd and latest Fault Lines was released on EMI/Warner in 2012, and lead single On My Side from Fault Lines recently won P3's Best Track Of The Year 2012 from audience votes.
Recently Turboweekend has won a bunch of prizes in homeland Denmark, including Hit Song of the Year 2010 with Trouble Is from second album Ghost Of A Chance, the P3 Talent prise 2011, and Best Live Act 2011 at the Danish Music Awards.
In the early years Turboweekend was a lovechild between the sexier parts of the Copenhagens underground rock/pop, and the increasingly popular and diverse electronic club scene. After self-releasing their first 12" single Into You. They signed with CPH Rec back in 2007 and released their debut album ’Night Shift’ that same October. An album that nominated the group for Best Act of The Year in the two biggest award shows in Denmark (P3 Gold and Zulu Awards), and first radio single 'Into You' became a 'Can’t Miss Hit' on P3 (Ugens Uundgåelige) the same week as the band performed on the Roskilde Festival upcoming stage Pavillion Junior. 2nd album Ghost Of A Chance, released on Mermaid Records (Sony BMG) 2009 presented a more focused, less sensationalistic songwriting and production, with roots and branches far beyond the sub culture from which the band initially grew. The Lyrics mainly center on the the ins and outs of love, but also touch on subjects like cultural prejudice (Colors), escapism Erase Myself) and metaphorical reincarnation (Up With The Smoke - Down With The Ash).
3rd album Fault Lines marks an even greater step away from the neon lights and harsh distortion of Night Shift. Find out more through the links below.
