This World Fair is a rock act based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The line-up includes the singer-songwriter Chris Kalgren (vocals, piano, guitar), along with a touring band consisting of Alexander Young (drums), Matt Lennander (guitar), and occasionally Zack Carroll (guitar, vocals). This World Fair plans to release a new album, self-titled This World Fair, in 2008. This World Fair is commonly abbreviated as TWF. This World Fair performs hundreds of shows per year and have toured extensively across the United States.
This World Fair formerly went by the name 'Kalgren'. This World Fair were discovered in 2004 by the girlfriend of their manager Grammy Award-winning record producer, Stephen Short. Past This World Fair and Kalgren members include George Hadfield (bass), DJ House (guitar) and Tyler Jorenby (drums). In 2007, This World Fair toured with acts such as Under the Influence of Giants, Guster, Phantom Planet, and Quietdrive. During early 2008, This World Fair transformed from being a band in to the stage-name of lead singer-songwriter Chris Kalgren, similar to the form of solo-acts such as Aqualung (Matt Hales) and A Fine Frenzy (Alison Sudol).
This World Fair recorded and cowrote the track "Don't Make Me Wait"[6] featured in the Dreamwork's film, Disturbia, released 13 April 2007. A music video for this song made by Disturbia's director, DJ Caruso, was produced by Lakeshore Records. The music video is included as an extra feature on the DVD, HDDVD, and Bluray releases of the film.
In January of 2008, This World Fair toured across the Midwest. Throughout the month of February of 2008, Chris Kalgren of This World Fair produced an upcoming album by Ari Herstand at Pachyderm Studio near Minneapolis, MN. Most recently, This World Fair headlined the Chipotle Rhythm Kitchen stage at Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI and embarked on a Midwest and West Coast tour through July 2008. Read more on Last.fm.
