After growing up listening to bands like Misfits and Ramones, Mike Dungeon found it hard not to see that the three-chord-punk scene was going down. He got very fed up with bands "maturing" and to see the old bands die or... mature. He wanted some of the music to stay the same. Without changes. Three accords and melodies to die for. At the fall of 2000 Mike Dungeon wrote the first Spookshow song "Now I Scream" (will be released on Chapter 3) Strongly influenced by Misfits. By this time the band was not formed yet. Mike was writing on his own without any further plans on starting a new band since he already had a hardcore band that took a lot of his time. A bit later Mike Dungeon and he's brother Knife Dungeon sat down together to jam. Mike showed him the songs though they where both really in to the old punk rock and it turned out that they where writing music in the same way. It was really hard to tell which brother wrote which song. They continued to write songs. Not together though. They recorded the songs on their computers and changed CD's with each other. Sometime in 2002 Mike decided to put a band together for the first time. The first line-up looked like this:
Mike Dungeon - Guitar Wolverine Blues - Bass Deadbeat - Drums Laura Weed - Lead vocals Knife Dungeon - Guitar
During the summer of 2002 The Spookshow recorded two demo cd's: "Hellolulia" and "Back in Hell". Both cd's including seven songs each. The band did one show together at Halloween 2002. After this the band where put on ice by a number of reasons. Mike and Knife continued to write a lot material and somewhere in 2003 Mike decided to write enough material to fill out three albums and releasing them as a trilogy. Their old website was still out on the net and people from all over the world downloaded their demo songs. The band was really dead until the spring of 2005 when Mike and Knife realized that they had enough material to fill out three albums... and more. Mike decided to change his life and left his old band and started to put the band together again. He wanted to dedicate he's heart and time to The Spookshow only. This time the line-up looked different:
Miss Behave - Lead vocals Mike Dungeon - Guitar Deadbeat - Drums Knife Dungeon - Guitar Carol Anne - Bass
Laura Weed and Wolverine left the band and where shortly after that replaced. The Spookshow signed on too Crypt of Blood Records late summer of 2005 and the first album "Psychosexual Chapter 1" will be out November 1st 2005. Chapter 2 in November 2006 and Chapter 3 in November 2007. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
