More of a diversion than a serious attempt at creating a hybrid supergroup, the Greedies only played a handful of live shows and their recorded output was limited to a 1979 holiday single, a stomping rock medley of “Jingle Bells” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” titled A Merry Jingle. Lyrically, it’s a bit on the slight side, but Steve Jones milks that wonderful descending guitar riff (familiar to anyone who has bothered to listen to the post-John Lydon Sex Pistols material) for everything it’s worth.
