Back in 1983 there were two bands that were forming, The New Breed and The Clockwork Soldiers. Both bands went on to gig and record, but nothing really materialised. When Clockwork Soldiers decided to call it a day due to constant crowd violence and Timo being arrested countless times being held responsible. The New Breed around the same time splitting ,this gave the opportunity for members of both bands to collaborate. Mark (Magit) Magee, Nik (Tealeaf) Lavithi of the New Breed and Mark (Timo) Timson of The Clockwork Soldiers decided to get together and form The Glory. So 1986 saw the beginning of an era and then Daz was brought in to play the drums. The Glory went into the studio and recorded their first album “Skins n Punks” in 1987 and later in that year went on an extensive tour around the UK .In 1988 saw the band go back into the studio to record the second album “We are what we are” Unfortunately half way through the recording Tealeaf and Daz decided to leave the band. The album was finished and released. After the split. John O'donnell (Bass) and Jim Wylie (Drums) joined the band. The Glory Then went on to record the new album We Are What We Are on Link records. After numerous gigs, fall outs, fights ,family matters and stuff outside the band, etc .The Glory once again split and reformed with Maghee and Timo remaining and Gaz (cooper) Johnson coming in on Drums and Steve (Ajax) Ward coming in on Bass. This line up saw the band produce some real quality sounds with there strongest line up yet,but alas never record. And due to events outside the band split once again.Maghee and Gaz now headed out to the states.Where they would both marry and settle.Gaz eventually pennyless and pissed off ,later returning home for good, while Maghee joined The Anti Heroes and stayed. In 2010 Magee and Timo got back together and toured the USA using 2 drummers Amos and Gabe and Allen Sullivan (Moonstomp) who had previously played in The Glory for a short spell whilst in England in the 80's.And the Glory were back. Meanwhile Tealeaf was in Cyprus playing in playing bass in a rock band called Lithos. And Gaz was playing in a band called Blitzkrieg UK. Along came 2012 and The Glory have re-formed again only this time the band members are Timo, Tealeaf and Gaz and a new guitarist. Nobody’s War has been released as the new single and is getting extensive air play on U.S radio. “The best of the Glory” is a CD that the band decided to put out, on the LAD label. It’s a collective of songs from the first two albums, only there have been digitally re-mixed The Glory does have plans to go into the studio and record a third album. The Glory are back, a little older, wiser and a lot better. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
