The CD ''The Wrong Arm of the Law'' was recorded at Dreamworld Studios Pembrokeshire in August 1999 and featured five tracks inctuding ''I Want To Be Canadian'' and ''You Still Owe Me Twelve Pence''. It was pressed privately and released through Welsh record shops and the Internet, selling in the UK, USA, Canada and even Switzerland! The internet has proved an effective medium for The Cheapskates - the song ''I Want To Be Canadian'' won mp3.com''s Punk Rock Battle of the Bands ?n March 2000, before going on to reach #4 in the mp3.com ska chart. `You Still Owe Me Twelve Pence'' has twice been chosen as a `Featured Song'' in the ska genre by mp3.com''s staff, and recently hit #17 in the ska chart. Radio airplay has been provided by Xpress FM (Cardiff) and Haven FM (Pembrokeshire), and songs will appear on the forthcoming compilation CDs `Better Than Advertised'' (Lucky Star Records, USA) and `Know Your Skalphabet'' (Good Clean Fun Records, UK). Recent gigs in the UK include an all day ska/punk event at the Foundry, Birmingham, headlined by California''s Parasites, and another all day event at the Air Balloon, Portsmouth, with Japanese band CaeserSoze and Moon Ska Europe signings Lubby Nugget. The Cheapskates are also embarking on a short headline tour of the West Coast of the USA in autumn 2001 .
