TFDI is a three man, acoustic band, consisting of Tony Lucca, Jay Nash, and Matt Duke. The three songwriters joined forces in 2009 for a co-headlining tour of the United States. Early on in the tour, it became evident to the three that, together, they possessed a powerful musical chemistry as their three individual sets began to blur into one cohesive concert.
On a day off in Chicago, Jake Samuels, the talent buyer at SPACE in Evanston, invited the three to their backstage studios to record a few live performances. It didn’t take long to put down takes of the four songs that would become the TFDI EP. On November 24, 2009, just a few days after it’s release, the TFDI EP reached #1 on the iTunes singer-songwriter top albums chart and remained there for weeks.
While enthusiasm for the trio grew far and wide, the success of the tour and the EP led Lucca, Duke, and Nash, to mobilize for a second compressive tour of the US in 2010, along with plans to write and record a full length record back at SPACE in Evanston, IL. When I Stop Running was in the Spring of 2011 to much acclaim, but would be the last release by the group for the next few years. Now, after a lengthy hiatus, TFDI returns to the stage with their inimitable harmonies, penchant for storytelling, and eclectic, genre-melding songwriting, and a brand new music released in 2017.
