According to the band, they try to make music "that revives the spirit of French pop of the sixties, but adapting it to nowadays music manners. Not to be copycats in style, but in spirit."
And, true to that definition, their eponymous style combines touches of ye-ye music, horns, eccentric samples, surf guitars, bossa nova and the wonderful voice of Patricia wrapping it all together.
Souvenir's critically acclaimed debut EP was released by Spanish label Jabalina Musica in March 2000 and Shelflife Records in February 2001. It comprises six delicious slices of pop... sung in French. The EP includes a cover version of Brian Wilson's 'Girl Don't Tell Me' in French, and an homage song to Dusty Springfield. The record has received a lot of attention in the Spanish music press and they have recently performed on Spanish National TV.
