Production
The album was recorded in Hansa Studio in Berlin and Grouse Lodge Studio in Co. Westmeath, Ireland through Summer 2008, with producer Garret "Jacknife" Lee.
The album is a departure from Snow Patrol's earlier productions. Frontman Gary Lightbody said he wanted to make a record cheerful as compared to their previous albums. Instead of describing a relationship's end, the record was written in perspective of a relationship that is working. The band members took additional lessons before starting the recording. They have described the album as their best to date. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
