During a concert in 1996, Shona Laing came out as bisexual and noted that she was in a relationship with another woman.
In 2008, Shona announced a new album, 'Pass the Whisper', and supported it by touring New Zealand wineries with fellow Kiwi singer-songwriter Monique Rhodes.
