French electronica/pop producer Jean-Philippe Verdin. Born in Brittany in the 1960s, composer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist Verdin has had a stint as a graphic designer (for the likes of MTV), remixed Serge Gainsbourg and Chet Baker songs, and worked on recordings by the likes of David Sylvian, Spanish icon Luz Casal and French chart habitué Etienne Daho.
The debut album, 2001's Bold, was released under the moniker Readymade and followed a pair of earlier EPs for French label F Communications. The record features guest appearances from Sylvian as well as Juice Aleem and encompasses elements of dark downtempo, quirky house, and minimal techno.
Babilonia followed on London label Peacefrog in 2005, and added baroque pop and folk stylings. Vocal contributions come from Feist, Sylvian, and Yael Naïm. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
