Fronted by long time musical cohorts Sean Flowerdew, Finny & Lynval Golding (The Specials) Pama shamelessly hold their influences high. King Tubby’s dub stylings meet the southern soul sounds of 1960's Stax. The classic sounds of yesteryear, with a social commentary firmly cemented in the 21st century.
To date Pama Intl have released 6 critically acclaimed albums, recorded sessions for Radio One, xfm & BBC6 music, played triumphant sets at Glastonbury, Womad, Big Chill, Bestival, Beautiful Days & Wickerman festivals, and performed alongside The Specials, Toots & The Maytals, Prince Buster, Jimmy Cliff, Madness, Lee Perry, Mick Jones’ Carbon/Silicon, Mad Professor, Levellers and The Skatalites.
The collective nature of the band has attracted collaborations from Billy Bragg, Lee Thompson (Madness), Mad Professor, Groove Corporation, Wrongtom, Mungos Hi Fi plus members from Style Council, Steel Pulse, Galliano, Bentley Rhythm Ace, Pop Will Eat Itself, Lord Large, The Selecter, The Specials & top 10 hit-maker Michie One.
In 2006 they became the first new band in 30 years to sign to Trojan Records, where they teamed up with reggae legends Derrick Morgan, Dave & Ansel Collins, Dennis Alcapone, Rico Rodriguez & Dawn Penn. 2008 saw a return to their deep-rooted DIY philosophy with the launch of their Rockers Revolt label and the prompt release of 'Love Filled Dub Band', which received a host of 4-star reviews from magazines including MOJO, Record Collector, Echoes and Touch. BBC 6Music DJ Craig Charles described the album as, “Bringing funk, soul and dub to near perfection”.
Not content to keep their sound to the music world alone Flowerdew penned songs have appeared on seven film soundtracks. The most successful being ‘Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels’ and most recently last years US blockbuster 'Fool's Gold' starring Kate Hudson.
2009 kicked off with the release of Pama Intl-Highrise Campaign, an anti-knife/gun version album, to universal praise –

Pama Intl are now set to release their latest long player… PAMA OUTERNATIONAL (Nov'09). It features Lynval Golding & Horace Panter (The Specials) and is co-produced by Sean Flowerdew and John Collins (producer of The Specials iconic Ghost Town).
