SOP artist and singer-songwriter Pam Feather (1986, Rotterdam, the Netherlands) is knows for her signature sound, catchy songs and energetic stage performance, with or without her guitar. At a very young age Pam started making music. After some problems within her family, Pam moved to her grandma. Her interest in music kept on growing. After a long road of local talent-nights, different music schools and performances at various nice locations (like Paradiso, Nighttown, Rowtown and TV station TMF) in 2009 the debut single Phone Call was released. Although Phone Call made her visible as an artist it wasn’t really her breakthrough. In 2010 her 2nd single Cannot Change The Weather was released. It led her to performances at National TV and Radio shows in the Netherlands like ‘De Wereld Draait Door’, ‘GIEL’ and ‘TROS Muziekcafé’. Recently her debut album Feather Tales was released. It contains a mix of Soul and Pop (or like Pam says SOP) with some Jazz influences. She presented the album at a sold-out Paradiso in Amsterdam. It was an amazing night that even got a bit emotional. The crowd couldn’t keep it dry when Pam sang the song Grandma for her beloved grandma who was also there that night. Dutch reviewer Kees Smallegange (Jazz Magazine / Oor) praised the live performance of Pam, saying her performance was like she has been performing in front of large crowds for years. He ended his review saying that she really has got the best of both worlds (referring to Soul and Pop). The debut album Feather Tales also received positive feedback in several Dutch magazines and newspapers (for details go to the PRESS section on this website). Feather Tales was recorded analogue at the Flowriders Music Studio. You can hear some of Holland’s finest musicians on the album such as Oscar Kraal (Drums, Anouk), Manuel Hugas (Bass, Candy Dulfer), The Special Request Horns (Horns, Candy Dulfer), GMB (Vocalist, Kyteman) and of course producer and Artistik Records own Music Director Marc Bien (Also a respected guitar player for Liquid Spirits and Rob van de Wouw). Pam wrote most songs on Feather Tales in the past three years. The albums sound is best described as a good blend between Soul and Pop music (or like Pam says SOP) with some nice Jazz influences. It really takes you back to the good old days when Soul music managed to put a smile on everybody’s face. Read more on Last.fm.
