Not yet 30 years old, Nathan Furst has already composed the themes and underscores of over thirty film and television projects, establishing himself as one of Hollywood's elite young composers. He has been honored with three nominations for his outstanding original scores, including an Annie Award for his score for the Max Steel series, and currently has three soundtrack albums released with major record labels.
Most recently, Nathan scored the action/thriller Already Dead, for director Joe Otting and Arclight Films. The modern moody score has received acclaim, and will be released on Lakeshore Records this February. Lakeshore records will also be releasing Nathan's recent compelling cinematic score to Lake Placid 2.
In late 2005, Nathan scored the epic mini-series The Curse of King Tut's Tomb for director Russell Mulachy (Resident Evil 3, Highlander, The Shadow) and Hallmark Entertainment. Nathan's epic score was so well received that Immediately following that score, Hallmark Entertainment signed him on to compose the intimate period romantic score for the adaptation for the best selling novel, Though None Go With Me.
In April 2005, Nathan's original score for the IFC action doc film, Dust To Glory, was internationally released on the world famous Varese Sarabande record label. His soundtrack was voted one of the "best of 2005" by The American Music Preservation, along with King Kong and Revenge of the Sith
Variety's review said, "Hyped even further by Nathan Furst's pulsating score, (Dust To Glory) puts you on the edge of your seat!", and The Hollywood Reporter said "Nathan Furst's music ups the throttle…".
The film's director, Dana Brown, (Step Into Liquid) was also happy with the score, saying in an interview, "…the music is unbelievable. He sees what the scene is about, and nails it. Nathan really took what Dust to Glory was about and exposed that musically."
Simultaneously, Nathan was putting the finishing touches on his third fantasy action/adventure score for Miramax Films entitled Bionicle 3: Web of Shadows, which was produced by Sue Shakespeare and the award-winning team at Creative Capers Entertainment. Sue has been quoted saying, "Nathan Furst is filled with talent and dedication. His work is right up there with any of the A-list composers I've worked with. It's only a matter of time." David Molina, one of the directors of the Bionicle trilogy has said of Nathan, "Watching the picture with his music for the first time is an amazing experience. The story is suddenly alive and emotional."
Nathan currently works in his state-of-the-art, digital production studio located in Calabasas, California. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
