Immediately following the accident, RCA, at the request of Theresa Gaines, Steve's widow, had the flames removed from the cover for subsequent printings of the album until 2007, when the flames from the original album art were restored for the deluxe CD version of the album. Added: The story is true, except they didn't remove the flames, they simply used the picture on the back of the LP that did not have flames in it. Different photo all together. I have an original.
