Laura Omloop (born 18 May, 1999) is a singer from Berlaar, Belgium. Laura recieved her fame after participating in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with her song Zo Verliefd - Yodelo (en. So in love). Laura won the qualifications and she represented Belgium at the seventh Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev, Ukraine. Laura performed as the eleventh act and got without any additional points 113 points, the highest result Belgium ever got in Junior ESC. The song was placed fourth in the competition. After the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009 Laura started working with Ketnet and joined Ketnetpop, their kids music tour organized and performed by former candidates from the Belgian preselections of the Junior ESC.
In 2010 Laura appeared on De Generatieshow, Goeie Vrijdag and Peter Live on Belgian television. Laura released her second single "Cowboymeisje" (Cowgirl) the first March 2010. And she got signed to EMI Music Belgium on the first of April, even before her music video for "Cowboymeisje" was shot at the end of April. Laura released her third single "Stapelgek op Jou" (Crazy for you) the 25th June 2010 and the music video was shot the day before.
Laura released her debut album "Verliefd" (In Love) the 29th of October 2010. It includes all her past singles as well as some new songs. "Verliefd" sold Platinum.
Laura's second album "Wereld vol Kleuren" (World full of colors) was released in November 2011. It contained the singles "Wereld vol Kleuren" as well as "Jolie Fille" (Pretty girl). The second album sold Gold within a month and the music videos for "Wereld vol Kleuren" and "Jolie Fille" has reached over 100,000 views on YouTube. Laura won the Radio 2 awards in 2010 as well as in 2011 in the category "Best summerhit for kids".
Laura's third album "Klaar Voor!" (Ready for!) was released in October 2012. The album contained 12 new songs recorded during the summer with help from Miguel Wiels, Alain Vande Putte and Peter Gillis. Two music videos were made for the album, Klaar Voor and De Goed Nieuwsshow.
Laura was signed to Warner Music in 2014 and will release her fourth album in October of 2014.
Laura is daughter of Serge and Marie-Anne Omloop and is the youngest of six siblings: Thomas (1991), Melissa (1992), Sam (1993), Gwenn (1994) and Jolien (1997). The family also have a boxer dog named Fantasia, a jack russel named Rikky, a rabbit named Snuffie and a horse named Bonte. Laura has during the years practiced to play the piano and guitar. Her favorite food is pizza and chinese take-out. Her favorite countries are Egypt, Turkey and China. Her favorite subject in school is gymnastics.
