Argentinean blues band La Mississippi started playing under the name of Mississippi Blues Band in the late '80s. In 1993, the group released its debut album, called Mbugi, followed by 1995's Bagayo and 1996's Classic. La Mississippi starting getting closer to contemporary blues while recording Cara y Ceca in 1997. They later issued Palacio de Pulgas.
