Called "A Canadian Flower" by Eric Anderson, Kat Goldman grew up in Toronto, Canada but did not embark on her songwriting career until she was living and attending university down in Boston,MA. during the ninetees.
There, she discovered her own female singing-songwriting heroes such as Dar Williams, The Story, and Shawn Colvin. Before long, kat was frequenting Boston coffeehouses with her own music.
She returned to Toronto in 2000 to record her debut studio album "The Great Disappearing Act", produced by Gavin Brown (Sarah Harmer, Billy Talent,Three Days Grace).
Within a year of touring this album, she was discovered, ironically, by Dar William's and Shawn Colvin's management down in New York City. This sent her on a frequent touring circuit that brought Kat to Boston, New York City, Ottawa, and back to Toronto for the next 2 years.
In 2003, Kat decided to pack up and move to the Big Apple. Tragically, one week before she was to leave, she was in a freak accident that nearly took her life.
After her long recovery, Kat Goldman has "reappeared" now, this year 2007 with her spectacular follow-up and proudest achievement, "Sing Your Song". Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
