Kal P. Dal was a swedish rockband led by Karl (Carl-Göran) Ljunggren (1949-1985) also known as Kalle med pedalerna or in short; Kalle Pedal (In english: Karl with the pedals). Kal P. Dal was a swedish rockband led by Karl (Carl-Göran) Ljunggren (1949-1985) also known as Kalle med pedalerna or in short; Kalle Pedal (In english: Karl with the pedals). The band was formed in Arlöv, Scania. The band made their mark, singing in the local dialect which gave them not only just a local fanbase but also widespread fame across the whole of Sweden.
Another one of their trademarks was to translate big international rock songs to swedish and thus also to their dialect. The band had many hits; one of their most famous being the song "Blåa Sko'" a cover of Elvis Presley's "Blue Suede Shoes". Other hits were "Jonnie", (10cc's "Johnny don't do it") Bara Rock 'N' Roll" (Rolling Stones's "It's Only Rock 'n' Roll) and the original song "Raka rör".
The band released 5 albums, spanning from 1977 to 1983. On the 3rd of January 1985, front man Kal Pedal suffered an aneurysm and shortly died at the hospital a few days later on the 18th from cerebral haemorrhage. Read more on Last.fm.
