Kaia Kater (born Montreal, 1993 or 1994) is a Canadian banjo player. In 2016, she won the "Pushing the Boundaries" award at the 12th Canadian Folk Music Awards for her debut album, Nine Pin. Kater's music is inspired by the traditions of Old Time, blues, gospel and jazz. She has shared the stage with the likes of Rose Cousins, Matt Epp, Sheesham and Lotus and the Sunparlour Players.
