While known for her Salsa recordings, India started out recording Freestyle w/ her debut album Breaking Night in 1990 as well as lending her vocals to many house classics. India has continued to record hit records into the 2000s. Some of these albums include "Jazzin' with Tito Puente" (1996) , "Sobre el Fuego" (1997), "Sola" (1999) and "Latin Songbird: Mi Alma Y Corazon (2001). She also experimented with Reggaeton on her eighth album, "Soy Diferente" in 2006. La India's ninth album, "Unica", was released on June 1, 2010. The album quickly reached #1 on the Billboard Tropical Albums chart. The single "Estupida" became her 7th #1 hit on the Latin Tropical Airplay chart.
