"Blind To Reason" (RCA 1988) was Grayson Hugh's debut major-label album, and was an international success, and garnered two gold records in Australia for both the single "Talk It Over' and for the album itself. Hugh received international acclaim for his passionate, soulful voice which reminded many critics of soul legends such as Sam Cooke and Otis Redding. As a pianist and Hammond B3 player, Hugh also wowed people with his keyboard abilities, both on his record and live on tour. The single "Talk It Over" climbed the US Pop Charts to #19 in 1989, and "Bring It All Back" and "How Bout Us" were top forty Pop and R & B hits. Grayson was asked to record (as a duet with soul diva Betty Wright) the 1981 Champaign R & B classic "How Bout Us" for the 1989 film "True Love", directed by Nancy Savoca. Hugh made supporting videos for all of his singles which received heavy airplay on VH1 and BET.
The supporting cast of musicians on this stellar recording include Rick Derringer and Tom Majesky on guitar, Fernando Saunders and Verdine White on bass, and Will Downing and Cindy Mizelle on backup vocals.
