Street Bangerz Volume 2 the second installment from Gramatik delivers infectious beats, rhythms and samples, instrumental Hip Hop, Funk and Soul defining once again the street sound of today. Embarking on a Fall 2009 tour and still fresh with the success of Street Bangerz Volume 1, Gramatik holds nothing back in this 19 track heavy weight release from Cold Busted that music lovers, DJs, Hip Hop heads and Soul and Funk aficionados will adore. Kicking it off proper are the tracks ‘The Culture’, ‘I’m Doin My Thang’ and ‘Tearin’ It Up’ making a statement, with clean, feel good classically influenced and instrumentally perfected beats. Pleasing our ears and minds more soulfully crafted tracks appear such as ‘Street Soul 101’, ‘Boom Bap Reinstated’ and ‘Lonely and Cold’ in which familiar loops, aptly manipulated beats, chopped, repeats and cuts are freshly served. Experimentation with other genres occurs in tracks like the classical music inspired ‘Orchestrated Incident’ with violins sweetly purring over fresh beats, as well as ‘Hit That Jive’ a playful jazzy piece with fat beats and a big band vibe. Some songs take us into the Downtempo Chill Out realm, tracks like ‘What More Can I Say’ and ‘Makes Me Wonder’, ‘Don’t You Know’ are steamy, introspective, plush and pour out deep soulful head nodding beats, riffs and rhythms.
