Early days All the band members except LeRoi, were in the ska band "Trompie Is Dood". "Trompie Is Dood" won the national highschool afrikaans rockband competition, Rockspaaider, in 2005. Two of the members parted ways and went in their own direction. But Alex, Niel, Theuns and Dirkie would later team up with longtime friend LeRoi and start the group Foto Na Dans.
Foto Na Dans Foto Na Dans is a indie rock band with a hint of electronic sounds. After releasing their EP in January 2007 Foto na Dans gained popularity with their first video on MK, "Huiwerig" but it was when their next single, "Soldaatvolk", where they truly got the attention of people all around South Africa. Critics said it was just another band riding in the limelight of the group Fokofpolisiekar. But with their debut album release, "Intervensie", in September 2007 all the critics would be silenced. "Intervensie" showed the creativity and skill these 5 rockers had. Their live shows are in your face and explosive being compared to bands like Muse, Bloc Party, Incubus and many more, but at the same time can be recognized with any music style. They also won the 2008 MK award for best group and was nominated for a SAMA for best afrikaans rock group. Read more on Last.fm.
