The Csík zenekar (Csík Band), which plays traditional peasant folk music, was formed in Hungary, Kecskemét in 1988.
„During the years past, we have composed and performed Hungarian folk music & our band became more & more popular regarding the innumerable successful concerts & dance-houses organized in Hungary & abroad. As a recognition of the professional community, the Csík Band recieved the title "The Young Master of Folk Art" in 1991.
The title "Excellent Folk Art Ensemble" was also given to the band.
In Kecskemét we have been organizing dance-houses regularly. In the course of these events we invite well-known folk artists, musicians, and also provide opportunity for young, talented solists, dancers to show themselves on the stage.
We are also willing to contribute as partners and performers for dance ensembles and participate in folk dance camps.
The 90-min-long concert programme of the band consists mainly of authentic, traditional Hungarian & Romanian pieces of music from Hungary & Transylvania; folk songs and dance music are also performed.
The programme involves dancers as well. They are ready to instruct dances if requested.
Several radio & TV recordings have been made with the band.
Our five latest realesed albums are also avilable both on CD and on audio casette.Their titles are:" Senki nem ért semmit " ( Nobody understands anything); "Be sok eső,be sok sár " (So much rain,so much mud); " A kor falára "(Onto the wall of age); " Tiszta szívvel " (With honest heart); "Boldog szomorú dal " (Happy sad song).
