"Blauwe Ruis" is the fifth studio album of Dutch pop/rockband Bløf. It was realeased in 2002 via EMI. "Blauwe Ruis" has been #1 in the Dutch album charts for 4 weeks just like the following albums Omarm and Umoja.
It's the first album the band recorded without their late drummer Chris Götte. For this reason the album contains a couple of songs that are dedicated to Chris or about the days after he died. Probably the most famous track about Chris' death is Dichterbij Dan Ooit (Closer Than Ever Before) but also Weggaan (Leaving) and Vrienden (Friends) are clearly written about the death of Chris.
Therefore the album has quite a dark atmosphere and didn't get a lot of mainstream attention besides the high record sales. Dichterbij Dan Ooit, however, did top at #12 in the Dutch top40.
English translation of the tracks:

Blauwe Ruis - Blue Noise
Meer Van Jou - More Yours
Dichterbij Dan Ooit - Closer Than Ever Before
Vrij - Free
Mooie Dag - Beautiful Day
Diamanten - Diamonds
Nieuwe Maan - New Moon
Vraag Me Niet - Don't Ask Me
