Career
Birthe Kjær began performing as a big girl and came in 1960 with a CCG group called 'Sunshine trio' who played all over the country and also managed to get a few optrædner on television. The group broke up, and Birthe Kjær began as an apprentice in a savings bank. She, however, continued to sing, and in 1968 discovered Johnny Reimar her at a dance restaurant and offered her a recording contract. Her first single was "Arrivederci Franz", which gave her an immediate breakthrough, the song debuted at number one on the Danish top. The song was the first in a long line of Danish top, including "Summer and sun," "Tennessee Waltz," "The bright red inflatable boat" and "I never go to a dance without panties."
In 1972 she made her debut as a cabaret actress , and in the period 1973 - 76 was Kjær solid cast of "Revue Ville" which Volmer Sørensen's revue in Nykoebing was called in those years. She has intermittently since appeared in various revues, including in Cirkusrevyen in 1990 . She has also performed in plays, primarily in music performances.
Kjaer has also made TV. In 1991 she was the host of a number of shows on BBC1 titled With loving greeting , admitted to Bellevue Theatre . In 1995 - 96 she was also the host of TV quiz game love on TV3 .
In 1989 she began a collaboration with violinist Kim Sjogren and guitarist Lars Hannibal , which resulted in two albums with the show.

Birthe Kjær has been in the Danish Eurovision Song Contest several times and achieved many good results. The best she had in 1989 , where she won with the song "We paint the town red". At the subsequent international Grand Prix in Lausanne , she obtained a third place. Before that, she had three times achieved second place in the Danish Grand Prix with the songs "You and I" (with Henning Vilen , 1980 ), "Do you mean" ( 1986 ) and "What the are you up to?" ( 1987 ). In 1991 she obtained the third place with "Your music, my music."
She has several times been involved in the presentation of the Danish Grand Prix. In 1990 , she was with Dario Campeotto host the Grand Prix, and in 2005 she was the host along with Jarl Friis-Mikkelsen . In 2009 , she was host in Herning with Felix Smith .

Birthe Kjær is the daughter of Hugo Hansen and Irene Kjær Andersen. [1] She is unmarried but had a girlfriend compared to the businessman Fritz Schur through toogethalvt years. [2]
In 2005 she participated in the popular television program Dancing with the Stars , but had the 18 October withdrawn from the program, when, during dance training was hit by a blood clot in the heart . After an angioplasty , she was hospitalized for observation, but had it in the circumstances well and is today completely fresh.
