Aunt Martha is the creative vessel of New England based songwriter and vocalist Tim Noyes. The band has taken various shapes since its formation in 2008, all the while being propelled by the constant writing and touring that has become Noyes’ trademark. 2011 has been their busiest year yet with over 150 shows played and a five released recordings (3 EPs, 1 full length, and 1 covers album).
The touring brought them all over the US with stops at more than a few well known music festivals including Bonnaroo and Orlando Calling, along with opening appearances for the likes of Deer Tick, Blind Pilot and many others. At other times, particularly on the most recent album Norway, ME, it becomes a lush wall of sound filled by layered vocal loops, electric guitars, makeshift percussion and synthesizers.
