My Everything is the sixth studio album by Anita Baker, released on September 7, 2004. The album debuted at #4 on the US Billboard 200 selling 132,000 copies in its first week. As of May 2005, the album has sold 568,000 copies in the U.S. and been certified Gold by the RIAA.
It was Baker's first album for Blue Note Records and her first album of new material in ten years. For her comeback album, Baker wanted to be "in control" of everything, and once again teamed up with Barry J. Eastmond and George Duke. Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds also contributed. Most of the tracks were cut live (meaning the band played while Baker sang).
Baker wrote or co-wrote eight of the album's ten tracks. The last track, "Men in My Life" was written for her husband and two sons.
Three hit singles were released from the album "My Everything", "Serious" (a cover of a Regina Belle song) and "How Does It Feel". Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
