The first single Heart Beats Slow was released and premiered on Australian radio station Triple J on the 27th May 2014. The album was recorded in Malibu, USA with legendary producer Rick Rubin mainly throughout April-July 2014. This is the first time the duo have recorded together since their successful album Down The Way released in 2010, as the brother and sister act decided in 2011 to focus on releasing their solo albums; Julia Stone released By The Horns in May 2012 and Angus Stone released Broken Brights in July 2012.
