Welcome to My Nightmare inspired the Alice Cooper: The Nightmare TV special and a worldwide concert tour in 1975, and the Welcome To My Nightmare concert film in 1976.
The remastered CD version adds three alternate version bonus tracks.
The song "The Black Widow" was covered by Bruce Dickinson for the Alice Cooper tribute album Humanary Stew.

The 1975 song Welcome to my Nightmare is a parody of the 1968 novel "There's a Nightmare in My Closet"
Steven's Story
Steven makes his debut on this album. Steven is a depressed mentally challenged mentally ill child who is trapped in a horrifying nightmare. The nightmare begins in the song Devil's food where the devil kidnaps Steven and feeds him to a black Widow in a spider's web Steven escapes the black widow.
In the 8th song Years Ago we see Steven was rejected and despised by his parents. While the 9th song Steven shows how Steven changed from a happy to a depressed angry mental kid.
