"A Naifa" is a portuguese band formed in 2004 by Maria Antónia Mendes (vocals), Luís Varatojo (Portuguese guitar) and recently deceased João Aguardela (bass). Their music is inspired by Fado (urban folklore music associated mainly with lisbon and coimbra, but that has grown to “symbolise” –or stand for- the quintessence of “the portuguese soul”) but explores other influences merging into a pop-like sound.
